On December 31st, First Night® Portsmouth says farewell to the old and rings in the New Year.

Market Square Day is a street festival, a road race and a concert..always on the second Saturday in June.

Originally created in 1978 to celebrate the "new" Market Square, the event is now considered the official start of the Summer on the Seacoast.

The 2016 MSD 10K takes place on Market Square Day...that's Saturday, June 11th. The 10K Road Race kicks off Market Square Day with a 9am start!
The Start Line is in Market Square - from that point, 2,000 runners and competitive walkers make their way 'round town finishing at Historic Strawbery Banke.

Summer in the Street is a six week series, filled with music, dance and theatre, all in the heart of Downtown Portsmouth. Bring a chair and enjoy the diverse talents of Seacoast performers.

The fun begins on Saturday, June 25th and takes place each Saturday evening through July 30th..
