MSD 10K FAQs
When is the Market Square Day 10K?
The 10K is the kickoff to the Market Square Day Festival on September 18th at 8am.
How can I participate?
You can register online (on Registration page).
Can I register on race day?
The short answer is no. Registration typically closes about a week prior to the race.
Can I run without a bib?
The short answer: no. Running without a bib (Bandit) OR running with someone else's bib is a safety issue as a bib/number carries with it important information for race organizers, health and security officials.
We do allow for bibs switches - that process will be noted on the registration page in May; all switches must be coordinated through Pro Portsmouth.
Where is the start line?
The race begins in front of the North Church at Market Square in Downtown Portsmouth.
What is the course like?
Our 10K winds its way throughout Portsmouth - Downtown, various neighborhoods, ending at Strawbery Banke Museum. There are straight-a-ways and hills and the typical challenges of a longer race requiring the type of stamina you get by training for a longer race!
Do you offer storage for personal belongings? Will we have the ability to access post-race showers?
The short answer to both is no; we do not have the facilities to offer showers or storage.
Where is the finish line?
The finish line is on Marcy Street - Prescott Park is to your right, Strawbery Banke to your left.
Top award winners' checks are mailed out to them following the race.
